   How to use bvine

Viewing your bvine
When you are subscribed to a site, new posts on that site will show up on your bvine, with the most recent on the top. You can select a range of entries to view on the red bar above. By clicking on the title of each entry it will open and you can read the entire entry. If you are logged in, opening the entry will mark it as "read", and you can view only the entries you haven't read in the past week, you can click on the "unread" option in the red navigation bar.

How to join bvine
Right now we're still in the beta development stage, so the only way you can join bvine is by getting an invitation from someone. If you get an invittion it will explain how to join.

Subscribing to sites
Most blogs and many other types of sites, especially news-based sites publish feeds that you can subscribe to and read on your bvine (we can handle RSS and ATOM).
When you first sign in, your bvine will be subscribed to all of the BWP blogs. You are free to remove them and subscribe to other blogs if you want, but we're confident you'll like our blogs.

There are three ways to subscribe to new blogs:
If there is a site you visit often that you'd like to subscribe to, simplest way is to click on the settings link in the upper right hand corner of the any bvine page (when you're signed in) and enter the address of the site you want to add to subscribe to in the box on the right side of the settings page. If you know the URL of the site's feed you can just enter that too.
Subscribe to this with bvine
The easiest way to subscribe to a site while surfing is with our bookmarklet. A bookmarklet the special link above that you can add to your bookmarks or "favorites" (you can do this by simply clicking on the link and dragging it to your bookmarks/favorites). You can also right-click on the bookmarklet and add it to your bookmarks.

Viewing Sites
If you'd like to find new sites to subscribe to you can go to your settings page and click on the link "Find new sites". This will show you all of the sites bvine knows about and some common topics discussed. You can search through the sites and subscribe and unsubscribe to them through this page. If you want to just view the sites you are subscribed to and/or unsubscribe from some there is a list of your subscriptions on your settings page, and you can remove some them with that page.

Searching bvine
You can search through these entries with the search box on the right side of your bvine. If you are logged in you can choose to search only the feeds you are subscribed to or all the feeds that bvine users have subscribed to. If you are not logged in, you can only search all of the entries.

Voting for entries
If you are logged into bvine you will see a little blue button with a yellow star next to your titles, with a number in it. If you like that entry you can click the button and vote to tell us that you like it. The number of "votes" will be displayed on that button, and even if you are not logged in you can see how popular each entry is.

Inviting friends to bvine
If you really like bvine (and we hope you will) and you know someone who you think would also enjoy bvine you can invite them. On your settings page, there is a box on the right side of the page that will allow you to enter an email address to send an invitation to your friend.
